Early this past spring, Mrs. Quinn learned she had been accepted into the prestigious English as a New Language program (ENL) at Notre Dame University. Since July 16th, Mrs. Quinn has been in South Bend, Indiana as an ENL Hernandez fellow through ALMA (Advancing Latino and Multicultural Learner Achievement through Catholic Education). This is a division of the ACE (Alliance for Catholic Education) programs that exist at many Catholic colleges throughout the United States. She has spent the past two weeks intensively studying how students acquire language through linguistics and the theories and foundations of language acquisition. She hopes to bring her skills back to Saint Charles to help all learners succeed. She has been remembering the entire Saint Charles community in prayer at the beautiful grotto at Notre Dame and during Mass at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on Notre Dame’s campus.
As an alumni and parent of Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, she looks forward to continuing the long tradition of educational excellence of the IHM Sisters, who have served in the St. Charles Borromeo community for the past 100 years.
Mrs. Quinn’s mission is to keep St. Charles as strong as ever. She is dedicated to the mission of Catholic excellence, which means a vibrant faith life, strong academics, and abundant school spirit. Let’s make this year the best ever!
